During the run-up for the 2012 elections there have been a number of debates amongst the primary GOP candidates. One question that keeps coming up is the issue of illegal immigration. Obviously, the citizens and voters are more concerned during times of higher unemployment, because they feel that these jobs that are being taken up by those who come into the country illegally are hampering their chances, and the chances of friends and family from getting those jobs. Now then, I’d like to talk to you about this for a second, because it’s been in the news nearly every day.
Many other GOP candidates claim they want a solid border fence from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. In fact in San Diego California they are extending the border fence out 100 yards into the ocean, still there will be border guards making sure no one is swimming around the point from Tijuana to San Ysidro beach area there. Then there are new technologies being deployed to see underground and figure out where the drug cartels are building their tunnels. In fact, there was an interesting article on this in Homeland Security News on November 28, 2011 titled: “The challenges of detecting drug tunnels,” which stated;
“DHS and DOD invested in technology to detect underground tunnels using ground sensors and seismic waves detecting movement underground – also tried robots to map the terrain using infrared. Ground penetrating radar doesn’t work below forty-feet, and some tunnels are 100 feet below ground. Ground radar readings challenged due to urban settings and damp, clay-rich soils. Microgravity sensors, measuring small changes in the Earth’s gravitational field caused by cavities are costly and give many false positives.”
One GOP candidate discussed at a recent debate the use of a virtual fence, as you probably know the funding was cut out from that program, as there were some problems with it during its prototype development. Nevertheless, new technologies are always been considered. Now then, I’d like to suggest an interesting new technology, some might call a rogue thought to solve this problem, my concept and technology would be for above ground illegal alien crossings.
Okay so, I propose artificial Decoy Cactus Robots along many of the foot paths or trails that illegal aliens often use coming into our country. When they get close; the needles on the fake cactus will shoot out like darts. Each one will have sleeping potion on the tip. When they hit the individuals trying to get by, it will make them fall asleep, and the cactus will then using its antenna signal the satellite that it has discharged the needles with a sleeping potion.
Then a camera on the cactus will pop out so that an operator can view how many people have fallen asleep out there and need to be picked up by the border patrol. Personally, I think this is a great idea, and I can’t think of a more humane way to deal with the problem. If the border patrol for some reason is too busy and can’t get out there to pick the people up, eventually they’ll wake up and walk a little further, until they get to the next cactus. By the time they do get into the country, they will be well rested, or taken into custody and arrested. Either way they will be “ah-rested” – so, please consider all this and think on it.
